It’s no secret that we do a lot of our coding in Ruby and love being part of the community. This time, the 84codes team gathered in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the three-day Ruby conference EuRuKo.
We had the opportunity to meet fellow Ruby enthusiasts and hear the latest from the community—and we weren’t disappointed. As a gold sponsor of this three-day, three-track event, we got the chance to connect closely with a lot of the attendees and listening in on their stories. It is clear that the conference brought together a very in depth knowledge crew and we met and listened to some true thought leaders, sharing their knowledge and visions.
Attendee Radan Skorić wrote a really nice reflection of the conference.
To share some of the experience we’ve gathered over the years, our colleague Erica Weistrand presented a talk titled “Ruby Off Rails,” where she shared how we develop web applications at 84codes. A big thank you to the audience for listening and we hope that we provided some perspectives on how working with Ruby as a primary language can offer diverse solutions based on your business needs.
We had great fun, both under the roof of EuRuKo and in the location that the conference brought us to. As attendees, and in the spirit of EuRuKo, we also got to vote for the next conference location. While we love Sarajevo—a beautiful city we explored, taking the opportunity to see it from above via cabin, we’re excited for the next host city: Viana do Castelo in Portugal.
Until next time EuRuKo and Ruby community.
