Organizers of MQ Summit 2025 write: “Message queues are the backbone of modern distributed systems, ensuring seamless communication, scalability, and resilience” - and we could not agree more. These are words that we have been sharing for over ten years under the flag of RabbitMQ.
RabbitMQ Summit was first held 2018, and since then, we have been part of every RabbitMQ Summit, as either co-organizers, speakers, sponsors, or hosts. We watched a community grow and over the years, we’ve learned a lot from each other - making friends in the messaging community and watched developers and companies navigate the field of messaging and streaming. It has been a lot of fun, and now we’re happy to see that the conference is opening the doors and inviting more people to join!
During our many years in the CloudAMQP booth on RabbitMQ Summit, one thing became clear; RabbitMQ is often seen as the grown-up, steady and strong option. The interest for the broker itself got both very technically deep, where attendees really got to explore the many possibilities of the RabbitMQ broker - but it also grew in a wider sense, shining light on how RabbitMQ interact in a environment where different brokers cooperate, or at least exists next to each other.
Standing in our booth, common talks or questions often involved people asking for simple comparisons between different messaging systems, or, even more commonly, explanations and discussions about how they use various technologies for different purposes.
This diversity wasn’t always the result of careful planning but sometimes simply evolved that way. It worked because employee expertise changed over the years, learnings pushed things in another direction, successful new implementations were made, and knowledge was shared. Life happened, and with time they had created a sustainable and diverse ecosystem that has now become part of their normal workflow. In the booth, most of our discussions came to be about message queueing in various forms, not only about RabbitMQ.
“Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” – James Cash Penney
From our point of view, the technology itself, and our strong belief in it, is more interesting than one broker. So when the question was asked “What do you think of turning RabbitMQ Summit into MQ Summit?” we quickly said yes.
So, this year, MQ Summit welcomes all messaging systems, and the program committee includes representatives from many parts of the messaging world. 84codes is represented by Anders Bälter - an 84coder for over 10 years.
Needed to be said, is that over the last couple of years 84codes has developed LavinMQ, a small and powerful message broker built in Crystal (not mentioning it would be strange). So, of course, we’re also looking forward to showcasing LavinMQ in such great company. But, we share something fundamental with all the exhibiting brokers: a deep trust in messaging technology.
“Technology doesn’t drive change - it enables change.” – Jeff Bezos
A worn out saying maybe, but it captures our mission. Now, we look forward to seeing all these powerful messaging solutions come together during a single day, as the first step in a joint movement forward. While we may be viewed as competitors, we also share a common goal: helping more companies understand, learn from, and start using message queuing and streaming to keep our digital and physical world stable and secure. As data volumes increase and move faster, and as we become more dependent on these systems, it’s our responsibility to keep the industry informed.
See you in Berlin! We hope to see many familiar and new faces.

It’s not the snow that makes a trip memorable; it’s the people. And at 84codes, we’re lucky to have some of the best. Winter in Sweden has been a bit...
